Young Adulthood
Humanity’s passage from adolescence to young adulthood is portrayed by the character of Abraham.
This character is of capital importance in the history of mankind because he introduced in his day, through the use of intelligence, what is now called hypothetical reasoning.
Abraham began his quest for meaning by imitating the inhabitants of his city, worshiping in turn the stars, then the moon and finally the sun. He rejected them all because each time the star disappeared. It was then that he deduced that it was necessary to orient oneself towards the creator of the universe.
It is a characteristic of the young adult that he is able, with his critical thinking skills and his ability to gather data, to find on his own the direction to take.
Once contact was established, Abraham turned to his creator to ask him to show him how He raises the dead. The Creator asked him if he did not believe in Him. Abraham replied that it was to reassure his heart. This is the behavior of a young adult who seeks to consolidate his convictions.
The Creator enjoins him to take four birds, tame them, cut them in four and then place fragments of them on mountains. Then he tells him to call them and they will come to him.
The scene demonstrates that the view of certainty is undoubtedly higher than the knowledge of certainty.
Abraham’s approach to speaking to his people is more evolved than Noah’s. For example, one day taking advantage of the remoteness of the inhabitants of his city, Abraham proceeded to destroy all the statues that people worshiped except the most monumental. Taken in suspicion he was asked to testify in front of the people. He then pointed to the one that was the most giant. Just ask the gods if they can speak, they were told.
Summoned before the king, he asked him to make his lord known to him, Abraham replied that it is He who gives life and death. The king replied that he too is able to make live and die. Aware of the king’s actions, Abraham addressed him to tell him that his lord made the sun rise from the eastern part of the earth, hypothesis, it was up to him to raise it from the west, counter-hypothesis.
The king remained confused and amazed and did not know what to say. Sensing the danger that Abraham represented for his throne, it was then that he decided to throw him into the stake. It was the Creator who saved him from the flames.
Isn’t it true that young adults are known for their enthusiasm as well as their recklessness?
Abraham then really realized that only the Creator is able, thanks to his omniscience and his wisdom, to establish order and balance among his creatures like his universe. This is why Abraham left his people, including his father, and went to his maker to guide him. This is how the principle of what could be called Createucracy was born, with the creator of the universe being the center.
It is during young adulthood that humans truly realize their limits both in terms of knowledge and experience, and that they need a teacher.
Createucracy is symbolized by the building of the creator’s home called the Kaaba, because of its cubic shape, and dedicated to humans, which Abraham raised with the help of his son in the city of Mekke in the Arabian peninsula in Middle East.
Isn’t it true that young adults are capable of both abstraction and generalization?
Another sign that demonstrates the age of young adulthood is the capacity for anticipation shown by Abraham through a prayer addressed to his creator and which stipulates that he sends to the region of the Arabian Peninsula someone. ‘one of its inhabitants to teach them the book, wisdom and to purify them. What will actually happen with the advent of a character named Muhammad also known as Muhammad.
Because the young adult is capable of interpretation, the guidance of the Creator with Abraham took written form.
